Mother Teresa is a soul dedicated to the suffering of humanity. He was born on 27 August 1910 in Skopje, formerly undivided Yugoslavia. Her earlier name was Agnes Gonhax Bojaxim. He had his early education in his native village. Agnes came to Kolkata as a missionary. He began his career as a teacher at the Loreto Convent. But his heart cried out for the dying and destitute around the slums of Antley, Kolkata.
He left the service and began his life as a race. She went to Darjeeling and received rigorous training to serve the poor and homeless. He founded ‘Nirmal Hriday’ in Kolkata, a shelter for the victims. His name reached far and wide. She has always lived the life of a common woman. He was awarded the ‘Nobel Prize’ in 1979 for international peace and understanding. He was also awarded ‘Bharat Ratna’ in 1980. He died on 5 September 1997.
