26 January is an important red-letter day in our national life. India was declared on 26 January 1950 after gaining independence on 15 August 1947. On that day, our school, office society was decorated splendidly with flowers, ribbing, etc. Students come to school in the morning in proper uniform. We stand in rows in the school group.
Our headmaster hoists the national flag and all the participants clap after that we salute the flag in the accompaniment of the national song sung by the selected students participating in the competition. Every year a brief cultural program or social work of any sort is arranged by all students of ours school. It is an eventful day on which we take a pledge to do something noble for the country. All the teachers and students are celebrating the program in a mood of joy and happiness.

After celebrating 26 January in school we come home again and arrange this republic day in our area, decorate the whole area with flags, all the children participate in this 26 January festival of our area, then our own ward councilor Come and hoist the national flag and after that, we distribute chocolates to all the kids, then play games to the child, that’s how we celebrate Republic Day on that day.

Many freedom fighter leaders of India including Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Jarwal Lal Nehru, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Bhagat Singh, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr. Zakir Hussain raised their voice against British violence and rules. Many people sacrificed their lives to get freedom for India.
After the independence of India, Shri Rajendra Prasad became the first President of India. The government declared on 26 January 1950 that Republic Day was a national holiday. On this day, the Indian national flag is hoisted along with the national anthem.
